Lunchbox Apps
Our gold prize winner for Space Math, Reese from Lunchbox Apps, has always loved math. He splits his days between working as a high school math teacher and working on educational math apps.
He has experienced the effectiveness of educational apps integrated with the SmarTots SDK first hand:
“My two biggest apps have focused on giving students chances to practice basic arithmetic skills - skills that give them a huge advantage when working on high school math curriculum. As a high school math teacher I have seen that students that are lacking in these basic skills progress much slower than their more skilled counterparts.
It has been amazing to hear from teachers and parents who are using Space Math to help their kids improve their basic math skills.

As a high school math teacher I have seen how students with these skills have a huge advantage when working through the high school curriculum. Students lacking in these basic skills seem to progress much slower than their more skilled counterparts.
SmarTots makes it easy to integrate many features that would take a small developer far too long to integrate themselves. Using SmarTots, a parent or teacher can setup their students in Space Math and have it sync to all
their devices. If they already have setup a SmarTots account all they have to do is log in and all of their students show up! In the new version of Space Math, progress in challenges sync across all your devices and parents/teachers get reports showing what the student has accomplished. Space Math will even report when a student is struggling. The SmarTots infrastructure made these amazing features easy to add.”
As Sarah D'Arco, 3rd Grade Teacher, said:
“My students are loving Space Math and I've recommended it to parents that have iPads at home. The kids are so engaged in playing the games; it makes math practice much more enjoyable.”
